Obituary


PORTER- Laurence (“Junior”, “Gramp”, “Pa”) Edward Taylor Jr., age 82, passed away peacefully on Monday March 7, 2022, at his home in Porter surrounded by his loving family.
Laurence was born in Porter, Maine on May 24, 1939, to Laurence Taylor Sr. and Mary (DeWitt) Taylor and attended local schools.
Laurence served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserves. Laurence met his loving wife Brenda in 1956 and they were married on August 9, 1958. Together they created a family full of love. Laurence was an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting with his father and passed that loved tradition on to his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He started his working career doing dirt work with Manuel Stacey and doing other logging jobs before starting his own business.
He started L.E. Taylor & Sons, Inc. with his four sons and later grandchildren joined the family business.
Laurence is survived by his wife of 63 years Brenda; children Dennis and his wife Juliann, Scott and his wife Lisa, Gary and his wife Angela, Walter and his wife Sandra; grandchildren Diana (Milt), Heath (Sarah), Brad, Bud (Kelsey), Courtney (Tylor), Jeffrey (Kara), Tyler (Alex), Alex (Shay); great grandchildren Riley, Baylee, Paisley Quinn, Easton and Lauren who is coming in July.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday March 13, from 3 – 5 PM at the Poitras, Neal & York Funeral Home, 71 Maple St., Cornish. Burial will be in the spring at Porter Village Cemetery. Online condolence messages can be submitted at the funeral home website, www.mainefuneral.com
