Armanda P. (Fonseca) Gomes, 83, of New Bedford died March 7, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
She was the wife of the late Virgilio Gomes.
Born and raised in Sao Antao, Cape Verde, daughter of the late Manuel Jose and Paulina Firmina (Fonseca) Fonseca, she has lived in New Bedford for the last 30 years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking and sewing.
Survivors include her 2 sons, Joseph Gomes and Emmanuel Fonseca Gomes, both of New Bedford; a daughter, Catherine Gomes of New Bedford; 23 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren: and many nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Angele Gomes.
Her Funeral will be held on Friday, March 11th at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday March 10th from 4-8 PM.
