Ann Branch Moore, 89, of Tifton died Saturday, March 5, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022, in the Memorial Chapel at Tifton’s First Baptist Church. Dr. Wayne Roe will officiate with burial to follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service in the Memorial Chapel.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Sam Watson, Zach Massey, Matt Massey, Reid Moore, Ryan Moore, Jake Moore and Max Moore and grandsons-in-law, Jamie Walters and Austin Griffin.
Mrs. Moore was born September 18, 1932. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of almost 60 years, Marvin Moore, her parents, James Curtis Branch, Sr. and Lois Towson Branch, and her brother, James Curtis Branch, Jr. She was a long-time, active member of Tifton’s First Baptist Church where she served in many roles including Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Moore attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and the University of Georgia. She and her husband started the retail clothing store, Jeans N’ Things, in Tifton and later merged it into the department store bearing the family name, Moore’s of Tifton.
Mrs. Moore was successful in business but her true loves were her family, cooking and sharing love with others. She enjoyed making blankets for babies, handkerchiefs for special occasions and caramel cakes for birthdays. On her farm, she enjoyed days of hard work and family events with her many children and grandchildren.
Mrs. Moore is survived by five children and their spouses, Vicky and Norman Watson of Moultrie, Beverly and Hobson Reynolds of Madison, Marty and Melinda Moore of Tifton, Russ and Jody Moore of Tifton, and Phil and Lynn Moore of Sandy Springs; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Sam and Emily Watson, LeaAnne and Jamie Walters, Zach and Laura Massey, Matt and Lanier Massey, and Mallory and Austin Griffin, Jake, Reid, Ryan, Anna, Ella, Max and Maggie Moore; and fifteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers and their spouses, Dan and Carolyn Branch, Earl and June Branch, and Jerry and Kathe Branch; three sisters and their spouses, Carolyn Mann, Dellene and Albert Ellis, Jane and Emory Atwater; and sister-in-law, Frances Branch.
