Obituary

Gemma Angela Robles was born on March 1, 1961, in Los Angeles, California to Ernesto Hernandez Robles and Lucia Gonzalez Robles. She entered into eternal rest on February 23, 2022, in Ventura, California where she enjoyed spending time with her boyfriend David Villarreal.

Gemma attended Cal Poly Pomona; and then, she went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California in 1983. Thereafter, she began her career as a Dental Hygienist where she enjoyed making everyone’s smile a little brighter. In 2005 Gemma moved into a new direction to pursue a new opportunity as an Executive Account Manager in the healthcare industry.

Gemma was involved in a multitude of organizations wherein she had many friends whom she considered family. She was a parent, parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at St. Joachim Catholic School and Church in Costa Mesa. She had her long-time USC football family, Las Amigas family, book club family, dental family, and too many others to mention.

Gemma was a strong woman in every way. She provided for her family and thought the world of her two sons all the while instilling discipline and good virtues. Gemma loved her immediate and extended family. She loved to laugh, dance, have a good time and bring people together. Gemma loved the outdoors, living by the beach, taking long walks, yoga classes, bike rides, skiing and eating healthy. She enjoyed living life to the fullest.

Eleven years ago, Gemma fought her first battle with Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) which manifested as breast cancer. More recently in mid-September of 2021 Gemma was again diagnosed with ACC in her liver. No one expected it to hit her so aggressively. Gemma is a fighter and, in our hearts, we expected her to win this battle.

Gemma is survived by her loving children, her son Andrew Troy Pimentel, and her son Daniel Thomas Pimentel. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters and their families Maria Elena Jimenez, Ernesto Robles, Jr., Francisco Robles, Patricia Becker, Beatriz Kramer, and Fernando Robles.

Gemma was greeted at Heaven’s gate by her parents Ernesto and Lucia Robles. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Many will continue to have a little sparkle of Gemma when we wear our crystal jewelry.

Thank you so much for the outpouring of love and support.
