Margaret Edgehille, age 74, of Norton, formerly of Norwood and Dorchester, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, March 4, 2022.
Born in Boston, MA on June 10, 1947, she was a loving daughter of the late Richard and Mary (Hurley) Edgehille.
Peggy grew up in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston and was a 1965 graduate of Saint Patrick’s School in Roxbury. She had made her home in Norton for over ten years and was a former longtime resident of Norwood.
Prior to retiring, Peggy had worked for the telephone company for over thirty years, beginning as an operator and retiring as a manager when the company operated under the name of Verizon. She loved spending time with her adoring family, especially her treasured grandchildren, who were truly the apple of her eye. Peggy also enjoyed trips to area casinos and crocheting.
She is survived by her devoted children Daniel T. Edgehille, Sr. and his wife Patricia of Franklin, Julieanne H. Edgehille-Best and her husband Joseph of Norton and Peter M. Somerville and his wife Jennifer of Weymouth. She was the cherished grandmother of Jacob Edgehille, Daniel Edgehille, Jr., Faith Edgehille, Abigail Edgehille, Richard Edgehille, Brady Somerville and Luke Somerville. She was the dear sister of Alice Climo of Stoughton, Richard Edgehille of Hanson, Gertrude Camerio of Falmouth, Patricia Edgehille of Falmouth and the late Mary Renzi and Ann Riley. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 26th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 1 Power Street in Norton. Burial will be private.
A celebration of her life will follow the Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 26th at the Norton Country Club, 188 Oak Street in Norton.
