Mrs. Ida (Mirra) Izzo , a long time resident of Medford and beloved wife of the late Rocco Izzo, passed away at her home on Thursday evening, March 3, 2022. She was 98 years old.
Born in Carife, Italy on July 17, 1923, she was the beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Giuseppina (Scarano) Mirra. Mrs. Izzo was a trained Dress Designer and worked in this country as a Seamstress, for many years.
In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, cooking and sewing. She was a wonderful neighbor and loved to visit casinos. Ida was a long time communicant of St. Joseph Church in Medford. Above all, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
Ida is survived by her loving children; John Izzo of Medford and Marie Izzo and her husband Antonio Veneziano of Medford, grandchildren; Gabrielle, Annamaria and Antonia, great-grandmother; Dominic and Nico and many nieces and nephews. She was also the last surviving sibling of nine.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend and come to the church at 11AM to greet Ida's family. Interment will be held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
