Phyllis Dianne Green Strahan 75, of Fitzgerald, Georgia passed Thursday, March 3, 2022, at her home with family by her side, following a short battle with cancer.
A Celebration of Life will be held 1 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Central United Methodist Church in Fitzgerald, Georgia.
Mrs. Strahan was born April 25,1946, in Havana, Florida. She was the daughter of Arthur Emmett Green and Sallie Marie Barber Green. She was born and raised in Gadsden County Florida and was a school bus driver for twenty years working with the Gadsden County School System. Additionally, she was an advocate and instructor of adult literacy and GED for 6 years. On July 2, 1965, she married Tillman Strahan Jr and they relocated to Fitzgerald in 2000. They became active members of Central United Methodist Church. Mrs. Strahan’s family was the center of her world, and she valued the importance of the deep connection that family meant to one’s life.
Survivors include her husband, Tillman Strahan Jr. of Fitzgerald, GA.; children, Cherryl Strahan Griner (Joe) of Fitzgerald, GA., Bobby Jay Strahan (Becky) of Barwick, GA., Charles (Charlie) Raymond Strahan (Neysa) of Fitzgerald, GA.; grandchildren, Scott Strahan (Kindall), Madison Toole (Thomas), Shelby Boose (David), Kandalyn Vinson, Tillman Griner, Savannah Strahan, Charles Griner, Juliana Clark, Natalie Strahan, Izabella Strahan; six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and her sister Sandra Marie Johnson of Concord, FL. Mrs. Strahan had three children by birth and many others by choice: including James Forbes (Carolannis), and children, of Fitzgerald GA, Faye Gardner of Tallahassee FL, and Jeaneanne Sledge, and children, of Fitzgerald GA. Mrs. Strahan is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Arthur Earnie Green, and her sister, Bertha Mae Vickers.
