Marie J. (Follo) Aiesi, age 83, a resident of Tewksbury for 45 years, passed peacefully at home on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph Aiesi, who passed away in 2018.
Born in East Boston on August 11, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore Follo and Anna (Rubbico) Follo. Devoted mother of Frank S. Aiesi of Haverhill, MA, Laura M. Russo and her husband Eric of Haverhill, MA, and Christopher J. Aiesi of Ft. Lauderdale, FL
Marie was raised in East Boston and graduated from Girls’ High School in Roxbury in 1956. She attended the State Teachers College at Boston for one year, before accepting a job at Sentry Insurance where she worked until she married the love of her life in 1966. She relocated to Everett and resided there for 11 years before moving her family to Tewksbury in 1977.
Her most gratifying job was being a stay-at-home mother, and after raising three children, she returned to work in the Insurance industry for several more years with Allstate and Wilson Insurance Agency before retiring in 2001.
Marie had a passion for cooking and baking. She enjoyed shopping, reading novels, traveling, selling Avon (for over 45 years), watching Patriots and Red Sox games, vacationing at her Florida condo during the winter months, and spending time with family and friends.
She was also the loving sister of Josephine Colarusso and her husband Vincent of Revere, MA, Carl Follo and his wife Pam of Del Ray Beach, FL, Gloria Almeida and her husband Michael of Reading, MA, and Anncarol Saviano and her husband Paul of Methuen, MA. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Calling hours are Monday, March 7th, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Family and friends are invited to meet Tuesday, March 8th at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main Street., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery at 302 Elm Street in Everett.
