Obituary

Jean B. (Pina) Chatman, 83 of Lowell, passed away after a brief illness on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Lowell General Hospital. She was born on August 9, 1938 in Osterville, MA and was a daughter of the late Edwin J. Pina Sr. and the late Mary R. (Perry) Pina. She was raised in the Cape Cod area, where she graduated from Barnstable High School.

For over 30 years, she worked as a supervisor at Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA. She enjoyed playing bingo and the lottery, especially Keno. She was a collector of antiques and loved watching old shows on television. Although she has many passions throughout her life, her favorite pastime was eating and shopping with family and friends, especially her close friend, Clara.

She is also survived by her siblings, Edwin James Pina Jr. and his wife, Emily of Myrtle Beach, SC, David C. Pina and his wife, Kathy of Cotuit, MA and Patricia Lopes and her husband, Manuel of Hyannis. She is also survived by her god daughter, Lisa A. Rose-Williams of Jacksonville, FL; her close friends, Joe, Nikki, and Mark; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces, including Patricia Renee Pina of Mason, NH. Jean also loved her English Bulldog, Sparky.
