Francis Joseph Kailher 85, a longtime resident of Whitman, died Tuesday March 1.
Francis was born in Boston on June 22, 1936, son of the late Everett and Arline (Fuller) Kailher.
He married the love of his life Linda (McKinnon) Kailher, sixty-three years ago in Hanson and they moved to Whitman where they raised their family.
Francis was honorably discharged from the US Marine Corp after serving six years.
He had worked for over twenty years as a supervisor at General Dynamics and retired from the Abington School System where he served as Maintenance Director for ten years as well as a professional finish carpenter.
He loved gardening, fishing, camping, building furniture for his grandchildren and his wonderful “Patriots”
In addition to his wife Linda, survivors include their children, Dawn Marie Mosseso and her husband James of Lakeville and Brian Kailher and his partner Karen Lydon of West Bridgewater. He had seven wonderful grandchildren, Nicole Kailher, Danielle Kailher, Courtney Kailher and her partner Josh Donahue, Justin Slattery and his partner Casey Doucette, Brandon Slattery and Holly Kailher.
He is also survived by his siblings Ann Richard and Robert Kailher as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John and William Kailher.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visiting hours on Monday March 7 from 4-7 PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral service at 7:00 PM.
