Obituary

Charles C. "Chuck" Wininger, 93, of Anderson, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 after an extended illness.

He was born on March 1, 1929 in Knox County, Indiana the son of John Harlan and Maude E. (Stokely) Wininger.

He moved to Anderson in 1952 and was employed at General Motors for 16 years, retiring in 1993. Chuck worked in sheet metal construction for over 30 years. He was a member of United Auto Worker Local 662 and the Masonic Lodge in Cicero and Noblesville. He loved to mushroom hunt and travel. He was the best storyteller. He supported the Lakota Indians.

Chuck is survived by his four stepchildren; Diane (Bill) Whitmer of Avon, Donna Beyers (Mike Hacker) of Spencer, Debbie de Almeida of Lake Wylie, South Carolina and Dana Wilson of Anderson; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ernesteen Wininger; second wife, Loretta Mae Wininger; 12 siblings; step-daughter, Sandra Robin Kimmerling; four grandsons and a granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating. Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be conducted at 12:45 p.m. by Masonic Lodge # 57.

Memorial contributions may be given to Second Harvest Food Bank.
