Obituary

Worcester: Kenneth R. Engvall, 82, formerly of Boylston, passed away on February 28, 2022 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center University Campus. He leaves his wife of 60 years Betsy (Glass) Engvall; 2 sons- David H. Engvall of Washington DC and his wife Maria Petaros and William R. Engvall of Brockton, MA and his husband Scott Rohnstrom; and 3 grandsons- Christopher, Lucas, and Nicolas. He was predeceased by a brother Robert P. Engvall.

Ken was born in Worcester, son of the late Ruth L. (Carlson) and Theodore H. Engvall. He attended Shrewsbury public schools, graduating from Mount Hermon School in 1957 and WPI in 1961 and served 2 years in the US Army, stationed at Fort Bragg, Fayetteville, NC.

He was employed by Thompson Liston Associates, Civil Engineers and Land Surveyors for 37 years, retiring in 2002. He was a member of First Congregational Church in Boylston, served as a Selectman in Boylston for 5 years and was a member of the town's Finance Committee for 5 years. Ken was also a member of the Massachusetts Association of Land Surveyors and Civil Engineers.

Ken was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a kind, sweet and gentle soul. His family will miss his smile, sense of humor, love of animals and appreciation of nature.
