John J. McGuinness of Woburn, formerly of Wilmington, passed tragically on Feb. 24, 2022 from injuries resulting from a hit and run accident just blocks from his home.
He was the beloved son of the late Mary V. (Carrigan) and John F. McGuinness. Devoted brother to Debra Coddington and husband John of Beverly and loving uncle and Godfather to Annah Rose (Coddington) Littleton and her husband Jason of Beverly. John is also survived by many cousins and a host of friends including best friend Joseph Murray of Burlington. John was a retiree of the City of Arlington Parks and Recreation Department. He was devoted and loyal to his family and friends and loved spending time together.
John will fondly be remembered for his great sense of humor. He enjoyed history, documentaries, NPR and PBS. He was an avid reader including the Boston daily papers, loved music of all kinds, but especially rock, Irish and classical music. He appreciated being outdoors, whether it be at the family home, walking the trails at Horn Pond or Plum Island, or strolling Revere Beach. Nature brought him great joy. He was also a devoted Boston sports fan. He will be missed by many for his generosity and kind heart.
A memorial service will be conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., Woburn, Saturday, March 5th, at 11 a.m. Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
