Obituary


Worcester: Enid Holmberg, 97, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2022 at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. There she considered kind and caring staff members and her beloved music therapist, Megan, as family. She was predeceased by a brother and a sister in childhood.

Enid was born in Worcester, daughter of the late George and Ethel (Anderson) Holmberg. She graduated from Tufts University with a B.S in Education and Boston University Museum of Fine Arts Certificate. She earned additional Master's Degree credits from the University of Vermont, University of Illinois, and the University of Panama. She dedicated her life to being a teacher and artist, traveling the world for reference material. She lectured at various schools but spent most of her career in the Charlton Public Schools as a teacher and art supervisor for School Union #61.

Enid was a lifelong member of Wesley United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She was a member of the Sweet Adelines International for over 25 years and participated in many public performances and shows throughout the Northeast. Enid’s creativity and zeal for life were evident in her extensive involvement in costuming, set designs, programming, and support of fund raising efforts benefitting many organizations.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. in Worcester County Memorial Park Paxton. Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester is assisting with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations in Enid's memory may be made to Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center – music and art programs, 300 Barber Ave, Worcester, MA 01606.
