Julianne M. (Dahill) Walsh entered into eternal life on February 28, 2022 at her home in Falmouth, MA. She was 81 years old.
Julie was born in South Boston on June 20, 1940, a daughter of the late James Dahill and Helen (Haggerty) Dahill. She attended Boston State Teachers’ College (now University of Massachusetts, Boston) where she met her husband, James. After graduation, Julianne began a 40-plus-year career teaching elementary students in the Boston Public School system – most notably at the William H. Ohrenberger School in West Roxbury. While working, she raised her family in Canton, MA with summers in Falmouth and winters in Naples, FL. In her retirement, Julie became an avid bridge player, an occasional golfer and a voracious reader as a member of many book clubs.
Julie is the cherished wife of 59 years to James Walsh. She is the mother of Kevin Walsh and his wife Sheila of Charlestown, Brian Walsh and his wife Hannah of Colleyville, Texas and the late Michelle O’Connor of Ashland. She is the beloved Nana of her five grandchildren: John, Jed, Owen, Sydney, and Abby. She is the sister of Richard Dahill of Quincy and is survived by many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Julie’s Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, 55 Warren St. Charlestown on Saturday, March 5, 2022. Parking next to Church on Winthrop Street. Her burial is private. THERE ARE NO FUNERAL HOME VISITING HOURS.
