Richard Joseph Agostini passed peacefully on February 25, 2022, surrounded by his wife and three daughters. Born in Framingham, he served eight years in the Air Force where he operated radar on flights throughout the United States, Europe, and North Africa during the early years of the Vietnam War. Richard and Eileen started their family in Franklin, followed Richard’s career path to Kansas City and then to Mechanicsburg, PA where he helped to establish a successful medical malpractice insurance company. After his retirement, Dick and Eileen enjoyed operating Gallery By-the-Sea for a number of years in Plymouth, celebrating fine art and American handcrafts.
Richard was the beloved husband of Eileen Frances (McCarthy) Agostini for 56 years. He was the devoted father of Karen Marie Agostini (husband Jeffrey Boltz) of Plymouth, Maureen Agostini (husband Michael Meyer) of Montclair, NJ, and Susan Sheridan (husband Timothy) of Marblehead. He was the loving and playful grandfather of Aidan and Colin Boltz, Greyson and Heath Meyer, and Lochlan and Connor Sheridan. Dick was the cherished brother of Joan Tessicini (husband Bernard) of Milford, and the late Eugene Agostini (wife Elizabeth), and brother-in-law of John McCarthy III (wife Sue). “Uncle Dick” is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews and his adoring dog Teddy.
