Obituary

Justin Daniel Ewing 39, of Milford, and a former resident of Franklin, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday February 24, 2022.

Born May 28, 1982, in Providence, Rhode Island, a son of Janet L. (Pasquino) Ewing of Blackstone, and Charles B. Ewing of Uxbridge, he was raised in Franklin and attended Franklin High School until transferring to Tri-County Regional Vocational High School.

Justin worked as an installer for HVAC and gutters in the local area.

Justin enjoyed being outdoors, hiking, camping and climbing. He loved to work with his hands, carving walking sticks, making paracord crafts, and doing landscaping projects. If he couldn’t be outside, you would find him playing a video game or doing puzzles.

He was an adventurer, he traveled to various parts of the US and Canada, including Kentucky, Florida, Ontario and most of the eastern states. He lived for a time in Oregon and explored parts of the West Coast.

Justin had a passionately caring heart, a curious mind and an excited imagination. He had a goofy chuckle and a charming smile that brought a twinkle to his eye.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Marissa Ewing of Franklin and her mother Alicia McKinnies, a daughter, Brianna Martel of Leominster and her mother April Martel, a sister Jessica Downing and her husband Everett of Norton and a brother Kyle Ewing of Pascoag, RI.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Wednesday March 2nd, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 5-7PM.

His service and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers donations in his memory may be sent to Riverside Community Care Development Office 270 Bridge St. Suite 301 Dedham, MA 02026. https://riversidecc.org/donations/

Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein

There is a place where the sidewalk ends
And before the street begins,
And there the grass grows soft and white,
And there the sun burns crimson bright,
And there the moon-bird rests from his flight
To cool in the peppermint wind.

Let us leave this place where the smoke blows black
And the dark street winds and bends.
Past the pits where the asphalt flowers grow
We shall walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And watch where the chalk-white arrows go
To the place where the sidewalk ends.

Yes we'll walk with a walk that is measured and slow,
And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go,
For the children, they mark, and the children, they know
The place where the sidewalk ends.
