Marilyn Jean Redin, 86, passed away on Wednesday evening, February 23, 2022 in Thousand Oaks, California.
Marilyn was born on September 30, 1935 in Hurley, South Dakota and was currently living in Ventura County where she had lived for 45 years. She earned her Associates Degree from Ventura College in early childhood education and was a preschool teacher for many years. She also worked at Ventura College in the Financial Aid Department.
She was an avid reader and an excellent writer of stories and poems. Marilyn was a former member of the San Buenaventura Women's Club where she won a National Creative Writing contest for a poem that she wrote. She was also an exceptional baker and a wonderful cook. Marilyn was a member of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) as well. She and her late husband both loved to travel, and she was an amazing mother and grandmother.
Marilyn is survived by her Daughter and Son-in-Law Nanci and Casey Powers of Agoura Hills, California, her Daughter Karen Redin of Ventura, her son Chuck Redin of Fullerton, her sister Lois Sorensen of Sioux City, Iowa and Grandchildren Quinn Powers, Madeline Anguiano, and Zoe Powers.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom W. Redin in 2016.
