TEWKSBURY Richard Scott Bates, 47, of Tewksbury, passed away at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center after a brief period of declining health.
He was born on January 12, 1975 in Lowell, he was the son of Linda Fallon of Tewksbury, and the late David Bates. He grew up and was educated in Lowell and Tewksbury.
Scott made his home in Tewksbury, and he was a true jack of all trades. He was always working on fixing something, or figuring out how something worked. He worked in landscaping for many years, and had his own landscaping company for a time, most recently he worked for Liberty Landscaping. He loved the Boston Red Sox, but the most important thing to him was spending time with his children.
Besides his mother, Linda Fallon of Tewksbury, he is survived by his daughter, Kariann Bates of Billerica; his siblings David Bates of Everett, Dawnmarie Garcia and her husband Shaggy of Goffstown, and Erin Clegg of Tewksbury. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends, including his lifelong best friend Kaitlyn Tatten of Billerica. He was the brother of the late Alan W. Clegg Jr.
