Barbara J. Hinckley

TEWKSBURY: Barbara J. (O’Connell) Hinckley, age 84, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington on Wednesday, February 23, 2022, with family by her side.
She was the beloved wife of 46 years to David H. Hinckley, Jr.
Born in Lowell on December 22, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George O’Connell and the late Gladys (Nelson) O’Connell.
Barbara was raised in Tewksbury and graduated from Tewksbury High School in 1955.
She was a stay-at-home Mom while raising her children.
In later years, she worked as an Inventory Control Analyst for the former C.R. Bard Company in North Reading.
Barbara treasured traveling to Oregon to visit family and friends. In addition, she enjoyed macramé, gardening, and reading a good book.
Barbara was the mother of Laura J. McCoy, Donald J. Hinckley, Wayne E. Hinckley, John A. McCoy and his wife, Catherine, Stephen P. Hinckley, the late David J. Hinckley and James D. McCoy and his surviving wife, Patty.
Grandmother of Heather, Louis, and Chris McCoy, Shannon Wiberg, Camila and Patty Salinas, Carolina McCoy, Jessica Walker, Jillian Hinckley, David H. Hinckley, III, Angie Cartee, Drew Hinckley and Daniel Hinckley. Great Grandmother of Miles, Ayden, Jude, Emily and Owen. She was the sister of the late Shirley (O’Connell) Orsula and her late husband Jan Orsula.
Calling hours are Wednesday, March 2nd, from 2-5 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Family and friends are invited to meet Thursday, March 3rd at 10 a.m. at the Tewksbury United Methodist Church, 2335 Main Street, Route 38, Tewksbury for her funeral services. Interment to follow at Tewksbury Cemetery.
The family is so very grateful for the wonderful care provided by Dr. Edward Walshe and his Kidney Transplant Team at Lahey Hospital over many years.
