John W. Forti, Jr., age 92, of Medford passed away on Tuesday, February 22nd. Raised in East Boston and Medford, he was the son of the late John W. and Margaret (Kevin) Forti. John proudly served in the Army during the Korean War. After returning home he worked in the restaurant business, and was the owner and operator of Buttrick’s Restaurant in Westin. John loved his home on Cape Cod, driving his tractor, and watching the Red Sox.
John was the beloved husband of Christine (Harrington) Forti, and the devoted father of James Forti and his wife Cynthia of New Hampshire and Florida, John Forti and his wife Janet of Atkinson, New Hampshire, and MaryEllen Rodrigues and her husband Manny of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of Kevin and his wife Jenn, the late Mark, Jeff and his wife Marisa, Jaimie, Michael and his wife Morgan, Stephen and his wife Kelly, David, Lisa and her husband Daniel, Lori and her husband Derek, James and Austin. John was the great grandfather of Mason, Sam, Tilda, Douglas, Kelbie, Allison, Mia, Kelsie, Keiran, Penny, Jack, Claire, Thomas, Margaret, Daniel and Lucas. He was the dear brother of William Forti and his wife Carol, and Joseph Forti and his late wife Laura, all of Maine. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
