James Wade “Jimmy” Kilpatrick, 67, of Tifton passed away Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his residence. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Rickey Wells officiating. Mr. Kilpatrick will be laid to rest at a later date. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 25, 2022, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born April 21, 1954, in Banks, Alabama, Mr. Kilpatrick was the son of the late Ernest Kilpatrick and Mae Dean McClendon Kilpatrick. He was also preceded in death by one son, Lenny Kilpatrick; three brothers, Rex Kilpatrick, Junior Kilpatrick and Louie Kilpatrick; and one sister, Shirley Colley. Mr. Kilpatrick was a retired truck driver and also retired from Georgia Vegetable Company. He loved yard work and get-togethers with his family and church members; he loved to fish and loved taking road trips with his children. He loved his grandchildren, and they were the light of his life. He was a member of Omega Church of God.
Mr. Kilpatrick is survived by his wife, Gloria Bennett Kilpatrick of Tifton; two sons and one daughter-in-law, James and Leslie Kilpatrick of Tifton and Allen Kilpatrick of Adel; two daughters and sons-in-law, Kleasha and Quentin Johnson and Leeann and Austin Simpson, all of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Sue Rugg of Ariton, Alabama; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Cleone and Pete Rugg of Chula, Debra Williams of Brundidge, Alabama, Sara Troupe of Enigma and Linda and Scott Hogan of Albany; and six grandchildren, Amber Kilpatrick, Jasmine Kilpatrick, Timothy Bruner, Savannah “Shotgun” Johnson, Hunter Hinson and Kendall Hinson.
