Linda C. (Hubert) MacPhail, 67 of Lowell, passed away at her home on Monday, February 21, 2022. She was the wife of Dennis MacPhail whom she married in 1975.
She was born in Lowell on April 8, 1954 and was a daughter of the late Eugene Hubert and the late Doris (Renaud) Hubert. She was raised in Lowell, where she attended the area schools, graduating from St. Joseph’s High School before attending college.
Linda worked as an operator at New England Telephone before working as a retail phone salesperson at AT&T until her retirement in 1996. She loved reading, writing, playing daily crossword puzzles and word games, and studying history. She enjoyed traveling with her family and took her dream trip to Italy to see Pompeii with her daughter, Emily. She will be remembered for her inquisitive personality, her passion for learning and reading, and the love she had for being a grandma and mom.
In addition to her husband, Dennis MacPhail of Lowell, she is survived by her two daughters, Lisa MacPhail and her wife, Bess Hungerford of Maynard, MA, and Emily MacPhail and her partner, Edward Sholes of Lowell; and her grandson, Leo Hungerford of Maynard. She is also survived by her sister, Doris Hubert of Lowell; her sister in law, Deborah Gannon of Erving; her good friends, Ellen Macleod of Chelmsford, and Gail Cassidy of Lowell; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, the late Keith Hubert.

On Monday, February 28, 2022 all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 9-11 a.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, MA 978-458-6816.
Her funeral service will take place in the funeral home at 11 a.m. followed by procession for burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford.
