Christiana “Chris” Schmidt Haversat of Truro MA passed away February 20, 2022 at the age of 89. Beloved daughter of the late Anna (Haugaard) and John Petersen Schmidt, she grew up in Shelton CT alongside her two sisters, Betty (Cann) of Seymour, CT, and the late Nancy
(McDowell) of Jacksonville, FL.
She was the loving wife of Albert L. Haversat for 68 years, and mother to their cherished children, Sharon and her late husband Joseph Buteau, Janet and her late husband John Befus, Mark and his wife Donna (Reynolds), and Lauren and her husband Mark Mettler.
Christiana was known as “Mormor” to her eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is remembered as a prolific note-taker and an avid reader, but mostly as a kind and generous person who cared deeply about social causes and helping people in need.
