Ronald J. Mather, 80, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away peacefully in the afternoon hours of Wednesday, JANUARY 26, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 19, 1941, Ron was the son of the late Louis and Barbara (Sessine) Mather, of Brockton, MA.
He will be affectionately remembered and missed by his three daughters, Dawn Lifrieri, and her husband, Tom of Tampa, Laura Leland, of Worcester, and Julie Richard, and her husband, Keith, of Charlton; two brothers, George Mather and his wife, Elaine, of Wareham and Richard Mather and his wife, Janice, of Easton; seven grandchildren, Christopher Lifrieri, Danielle Kane, Rachel Kane, Brittany Dioso, Peter Kane, Brianna Leal, and Kaylie Richard; three great-grandchildren, Kirra Jno-Pierre, Skylar Kane, and Ellie Kane; two adopted granddaughters, Cathryn Sullivan and Holly Savignano; a god daughter, Megan Derby; and many nieces, nephews, dear friends, and family.
Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife Cora (Julian) Mather; his son, Ronald “Ronnie” Mather, Jr., a brother, Louis Mather, and a sister, Beverly Mather Meier.
Known to many as Papa, a nickname derived from his dedication and immeasurable bond with his grandchildren, Ron touched the lives of so many with his infinite generosity, charm, direct yet incredibly warm nature, quick humor, and ability to express the deepest love and appreciation to those he cherished. A communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Church and member of the Lebanon Club in Brockton. Ron also enjoyed traveling, fine dining, spending time with friends and family, and the many wonderful years he spent with the love of his life, Cora.
Those who loved him are in mourning but can take solace in knowing he’s back in the loving arms of his treasured wife and son.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ron’s family on Saturday, March 5, 2022, from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, with a funeral service beginning at 10:30 am, in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte. 123) Brockton. Interment will be private.
