Rockland

Hazel (Molin) (Nickerson) Estabrook 96,wife of the late Henry Nickerson and Gordon Estabrooks,died in the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center Wednesday after a brief illness.

Born in Holbrook, daughter of the late Harold and Edith M (Osborne) Molin.

Hazel was brought up in Whitman, a graduate of Whitman High class of 1927, a resident of Abington for 30 years and Rockland for the past 35 years.

She was a member of the choir for 25 years, and a former deaconess of the United Church of Christ of Abington where she attended since 1944.She also taught vacation church school and was a member of the Women’s Fellowship

She was a member of the .Rockland Golden Agers and a trustee of the Spring Lake Cemetery Assoc.

Hazel was the first female crossing guard of Abington and worked in the cafeteria in the schools. She also worked at the United Shoe Company in Whitman, and for Sigma Instrument.

She loved to travel around the US and, Canada, was an avid Red Sox fan.

She is survived by her 2 sons Henry Nickerson of Rockland, Bruce Nickerson of So.Weymouth also 8 grandchildren and 3 great grand children; also several cousins. She was also the sister of the late Allan and Norman Molin
Her service will be held Monday May 1st at 11:00A.M.in the United Church of Christ, Bedford St. Abington, Ma.Visiting hours Sunday April 30th 2-4 and 7-9 in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Inc Plymouth Street (RT58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman.
