Manuel Vasco Jeronimo, 90, of New Bedford died February 21, 2022 peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was the husband of the late Juvelina C. (Costa) Jeronimo.
Born in Sao Miguel, Azores, son of the late Joao and Maria dos Anjos (Carvalho) Jeronimo, he has lived in New Bedford for the last 50 years.
Mr. Jeronimo was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
He was formerly employed by Bertone & Sons Construction in Braintree and was a member of Laborer's Union Local #385 in Fairhaven.
He enjoyed his twice daily trips to Sunrise Bakery for coffee with friends, gardening, watching soccer games and was a loyal Benfica fan.
Survivors include his daughter, Susan Poirier and her husband Ron of New Bedford; 2 granddaughters, Cassidy Martins and Madison Martins.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 26th at 9:30 AM in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
