Daniel McKay, 64

Dateline: Mansfield, MA

Daniel McKay, age 64, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home, in the presence of his adoring family on Monday, February 21, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Cindy L. (St.Cyr) McKay, to whom he was happily wed for thirty-nine years.

Born in Boston, MA on July 30, 1957, he was a loving son of the late Nancy (McKay) Toomey and her husband Robert Toomey. He grew up in the Roslindale neighborhood of Boston and was a 1975 graduate of Roslindale High School.

A resident of Mansfield for the past thirty-seven years, Dan worked as a Customer Service Manager for W.B. Mason, overseeing the New York, Connecticut and New Jersey Offices. He also assisted his wife Cindy in the operations of the WSE Transportation Company in Mansfield.

Dan had made his home in Mansfield for the past thirty-seven years and along with his family, attended Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Spending time with family, was the essence of his life, especially the lifelong memories created visiting Disney World. He was also an ardent Red Sox fan and loved attending games at Fenway Park.

Mr. McKay was an active member and a former past president of the Parents Association at the Boston Higashi School for Autism in Randolph. He will always be remembered for his outgoing personality and his willingness to lend others a helping hand.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted and cherished children: Carly R. McKay and her husband Andrew Cook of Framingham, Daniel J. McKay of Mansfield and Christopher D. McKay and his partner Rachael Nilson of Foxborough. He was the dear brother of Dennis Delpha of Orleans, Debra MacDonald and her husband Duncan of Florida, Sandra Delpha of Florida, Donald Delpha and his wife Jody of Medway and Susan Jannino and her husband William of Florida. He was the treasured brother-in-law of Theresa Fennessey and her husband Robert of Blackstone, Joseph St.Cyr and his wife Sue of Virginia and is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, February 27th from 3:00-6:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.

His funeral service will be held on Monday, February 28th at 12 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Spring Brook Cemetery in Mansfield.
