CHICOPEE – Pierre J. Dorval, 65, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, February 20, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Palmer on March 18, 1956, a beloved son of the late Ralph G. and Anna V. (Anderson) Dorval. He was raised in Palmer, and lived in Monson until he moved to Chicopee around 1982 where he lived the remainder of his life. He was last employed as a metal finisher at Poly Metal Finishing in Springfield. He was an avid fisherman, played the drums, and enjoyed listening to music. Most of all, he loved spending time with his loving family and many friends. He leaves his two loving and devoted children, Jason N. Dorval of Chicopee, and Sara M. LaBier and her husband, Glenn, of Three Rivers; his six cherished granddaughters, Adriana and Emily Roberts, and Sarena, Victoria, Abigail and Emma LaBier; his cherished great grandson, Elijah Narvaez; his five dear sisters, Christine Spease of Palm Bay, FL, Linda Gurski of Palmer, Gisiel Hampton of Kansas, Laverne Charette of Wilbraham, and Lezette Dorval of Palmer; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his cherished granddaughter, Jamie LaBier; and his eight dear siblings, Patricia Pappas, Gerald Dorval, Carl Victor Dorval, Dolores Joyce Pelle, Neil Dorval, Alicia Murphy, Joel Dorval, and Sharon Newton. His Funeral will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022 beginning at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Sainte Rose de Lima Church, 594 Grattan Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will be private at Notre Dame Cemetery in South Hadley. His family will receive friends on Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Masks are required for his services.
