Nancy C. Davidowicz, 77, of Salem, passed away on February 16, 2022 from complications due to COVID. She was the loving daughter of the late Stephen P. Davidowicz, Sr. and Jane J. (Kurkowski) Davidowicz.
Nancy was a lifelong resident of Salem who received her BA Degree from Boston University and her Master’s Degree from Cambridge College. She chose a career in teaching and was employed by the Town of Danvers as a Special Education Teacher. She was also instrumental in establishing the alternative educational program for junior and senior high school students in Danvers.
During the mid seventies, Nancy became a Vista Volunteer and spent a year living with the Shoshone Indians on their reservation in Duckwater, Nevada. While there, she established two schools. Nancy was an avid traveler and often took her nieces and nephews on fantastic journeys.
She is survived by her siblings; Joan, Dorothy and Stephen Davidowicz, Jr. and her nephews and nieces; Robert, Todd and Stephen Cummings, Jane Watson, Valerie Flaherty, Danielle Ledoux Serino, R. Andre Ledoux, Jr., Brianne & Stephen Davidowicz, III and Daher Spriggs. She also leaves seven grandnieces and nine grandnephews and many devoted friends who enriched her life as she did theirs. Nancy was predeceased by her brother, Michael Davidowicz.
Private services were held. In her honor a scholarship fund is being initiated to benefit Shoshone children. Kindly consider a memorial contribution to the Nancy Davidowicz
