Anne M. (Hajjar) Salloom, 95, of Worcester, died Friday, February 18th at home, with her loving family present. She left to join her husband of 68 years, Edward G. Salloom, Sr., the love of her life, who regularly serenaded her with “You Are My Sunshine,” until he died on December 29, 2019. She leaves her children, Donna Salloom George and her husband, Philip, of Worcester, with whom she lived, Andrea J. Cali and her husband, Robert of Bethesda, Maryland, and Edward G. Salloom, Jr. and his wife, Claudia of Worcester; three grandchildren, Alexandra Cali of Arlington, Virginia, Anne Salloom and her husband, Michael Roberts of Worcester, and Alexander George of Worcester, a niece and three nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Dr. George Hajjar.
She was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the daughter of Charles and Zahia Hajjar. Anne graduated from St. Mary’s High School, Lawrence, and Staley College of the Spoken Word, Brookline, where she earned a Bachelor of the Art of Oratory Degree. She also attended Boston University School of Education and enrolled in speech correction method classes there. Anne worked for the Lawrence Public Schools as a speech therapist. Mrs. Salloom would help wherever and whenever it was needed at their retail clothing store in Worcester, Eddy’s of Park Avenue. Eddy always credited Anne with all of the successes that he enjoyed both in his personal and professional life. Anne was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her close friends described her as a lady with class, grace, diplomacy, and warmth, whose devotion to her family was unparalleled.

Her visitation is Thursday, February 24th from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue followed by her funeral service at 12:00 p.m. in St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester, MA 01604.
