Worcester – Sandra J. (Mitchell) Mines, 63, of Worcester passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home after a brief but courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Sandra is survived by her loving husband of 9 years, Timothy Mines; her three sons, Robert Zaza of Worcester, Ryan Zaza of Auburn and Michael Zaza of Worcester; two brothers, Kenneth Mitchell and his wife, Donna of Spencer and Bruce Mitchell of North Carolina; a sister Linda Roach of Texas; her first husband, Michael Zaza of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews.
Sandra was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Edwin and Jeanette (Rene) Mitchell and is also predeceased by two brothers, Stephen and David Mitchell. Sandra graduated from South High School. She ran a day care center, worked at BJ’s Wholesale Club for many years, and then joined UMass Chan Medical School in the Pediatric Neurology Department as an administrative assistant. At all her jobs, Sandra made herself invaluable to her employer and made lots of friends among her co-workers.
Sandra enjoyed hiking and loved baking for her family and friends. She enjoyed bowling at Town and Country Lanes in Shrewsbury. She always looked forward to her trips to Cape Cod especially the ones to Falmouth with her girlfriends.
