Obituary

On February 6, 2022, Rosamond K. Williams (“Mundie”) went to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by her children and her longtime aide, after a period of declining health. She was 87. Mundie was preceded in death by her mother Katherine Rust Kuehn in 2008, and her father George Waldemar Kuehn in 1999.

Mundie was born in Boston, and grew up in Cambridge, Belmont, and Chestnut Hill. She attended Shady Hill School and graduated from the Windsor School. Mundie graduated from Vassar College in 1957 and attended graduate school at Boston University’s School of Social Work. Following this she worked for a heart surgeon.

In September 1960, Mundie married David G. Williams; they later divorced. When the children were young, Mundie lived in West Concord, South Natick, Wellesley Hills and then moved to Weston where she lived since 1968. Mundie held positions with Concord Academy, Fidelity, the Brigham & Women’s Hospital and most recently Newton Wellesley Hospital.

Mundie is survived by her two children, Katherine (Kit) and her husband Jeff of Wayland, Charles (Chip) of Weston as well as five grandchildren, Katherine Williams, Zoe Koechling, Philip Koechling, Brooke Williams, and Cort Williams. Also survived by her brother Alfred Kuehn, her niece Winnie Gorman and her children Luke and Gavin, as well as nephew Andrew Kuehn.

Mundie was devout in her beliefs, and she had a passion for God; she served as Cabinet Secretary and Deaconess at the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Wayland, where she successfully got both of her children deeply engaged. She participated in Bible Studies and loved listening to “tapes” of Dr. Donald S. Ewing’s sermons and bible studies. She taught Junior High Sunday School under Harry Otaguro. She also attended many classes at the Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary. Mundie was also deeply interested in the medical field, like her father, whom she cherished.

In her younger years, Mundie was a member of the Junior League of Boston, the Vincent Club, The Country Club and the Kittansett Club.

She loved reading, conversation especially over afternoon coffee, breakfasts at Ye Olde Cottage, dinners at the Red Coach Grill/Coach Grill, summer trips to Salters Point and Marion, football, going to the New Hampshire Highland Games & Festival with friends, and spending time with family.

Many thanks to Home Helpers of Wayland, particularly Donna, Ally and Kristen who supported Mundie through the last two years. And thanks to Care Dimensions for hospice support over the past six months.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 1:30 PM at the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Wayland.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either The Trinitarian Congregational Church at 53 Cochituate Rd, Wayland, MA 01778, or to Gordon Conwell at 130 Essex St, South Hamilton, MA 01982.
