KILCOYNE Joan M. (Herlihy) Longtime resident of Wellesley, Wayland, and Boynton Beach, FL., passed away on February 17, 2022. Beloved wife of Jack Kilcoyne. Devoted mother of Donna Kilcoyne-Orthoefer and her husband John of Framingham, Daralyn Perry and her husband Paul of Waltham, Brian Kilcoyne and his wife Nancy of Sudbury, Brendon Kilcoyne and his wife Kim of North Andover. Loving grandmother of Denise, Kristen, James, Charlie, Sean, T.J., Kaelyn, Lillyanne, and Aubrey. Great-grandmother of Asa and Cecilia. Sister of Linda Placidi and her husband Maurizio of Norfolk, John Herlihy and his wife Denise of Dennis, David Herlihy and his wife Martha of Newton, and the late Alice Walker and her surviving husband David of Duxbury, and Mary Russo and her surviving husband David of Watertown.
Joan was such an active and vibrant person who gave of her time to the church, charities and family. One of Joan’s greatest joys was her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan had many talents but she was most of all a kind person who wanted people to feel welcome. She loved creating great charity events and was famous for her well-organized golf outings that always had a theme and matching outfits. She was generous with her time and gave much joy to the people she met during her different church ministries, tennis teams, pool parties and golf groups. She had a life full of travel with Jack her husband of over 60 years. Anyone who knew her was blessed and we were blessed to have had her in our lives.
Visiting hours will be held at the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home 477 Washington St. Wellesley on Monday, February 21st from 4-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Julia’s Church, 374 Boston Post Rd. Weston on Tuesday, February 22nd at 12 Noon. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery, Wellesley. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joan’s memory to the Watertown Boys & Girls Club 25 Whites Ave, Watertown, MA 02472.
