Vincent A. Guerrini, 89

Retired Mansfield Police Sergeant Vincent A. Guerrini, Sr., age 89, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, February 17, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Helen (Adams) Guerrini, whose beautiful marriage of sixty-eight years, began with a wink.
Born in Foxborough, MA on December 23, 1932, he was a loving son of the late Anastacio and Josephine (Bonito) Guerrini.
Vinny grew up in the “Hungry Hill” neighborhood of Foxborough, was a 1951 graduate of Foxborough and for the past sixty-seven years had made his home in Mansfield where he was a well-known and respected member of the community.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Guerrini worked for thirty-nine years as a Mansfield Police Officer, retiring with the rank of Sergeant. While serving as a police officer, he also was employed by the Dei Electric Company in Mansfield. After retiring, Vinny proudly worked many years for his son Kevin, owner of Guerrini Landscape, Inc. in Mansfield.
A communicant of Saint Mary’s Church in Mansfield, Vincent was a former active member of the Mansfield School Committee, a founding father of Mansfield Pop Warner Football; serving as a coach for his son’s teams, played for many years in the Mansfield Men’s Softball League and was actively involved as a member of both the Mansfield and Fort Myers, Florida Lodge of Elks.
Vinny’s family and many friends, whom he loved dearly were truly the essence of his life. He loved dancing, wintering in Florida and was an avid New England sports fan and number one supporter of the New England Patriots and Boston Bruins.
In addition to his beloved wife, he is survived by his devoted children: Vincent A. Guerrini, Jr. of Attleboro, Kevin A. Guerrini and his wife Leslie of Foxborough, Michael A. Guerrini and his wife Julie of Foxborough, Jo Ann Guerrini and her partner Jack Keating of West Yarmouth and Brenda A. Varney and her husband Kevin of Oxford. He was the cherished grandfather of Kyla, Kyle, Elizabeth, Victoria, Isabella, Nicholas, Chelsey and the great grandfather of Chloe and Colton. He was the dear brother of Shirley Truax and her husband Lloyd of Foxborough, Robert Guerrini and his wife Patti of Foxborough, Bernard Guerrini of Mansfield, who was pre-deceased by his wife Patricia Guerrini, Brenda Mignone and her husband Robert of Foxborough and the late Anna Senechal and Edward Guerrini. He is also survived by his loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visiting hours on Wednesday, February 23rd from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield.
His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, February 24th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt Street, (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Mansfield.
In lieu of flowers, Vincent’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to CSF of Mansfield Dollars for Scholars, P.O. Box 23, Mansfield, MA 02048.
The Guerrini family has requested that those attending Vincent’s services to please wear an appropriate face mask.
