Daniel T. Cluff, Sr.

TOWNSEND: Daniel T. Cluff, Sr., age 65, a resident of Townsend for 29 years, formerly of Tewksbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, February 15, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH.

He was the beloved husband of Nancy J. (Tremblay) Cluff, with whom recently celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on January 10, 2022.

Born in Lowell on July 10, 1956, he was the son of the late Richard E. Cluff, Sr. and the late Janet A. (McCormack) Cluff.

Dan was raised in Tewksbury, attended the former St. William’s Church Parochial School, and graduated from Austin Preparatory High School in Reading with the Class of 1974. After high school, he attended the former New Hampshire College in Manchester, NH.

Dan operated and served as President of Suburban Heating & Plumbing of Tewksbury, Inc., a local company founded by his grandfather in 1947.

He enjoyed numerous outdoor activities including playing golf, camping trips with his family and friends, snowmobiling, tuna and striped bass fishing, freshwater fishing as well as ice fishing. One of Dans favorite fishing trips was the Annual Meredith Rotary Ice Fishing Derby on Lake Winnipesaukee. Dan and his several long term friends made this trip a yearly father son tradition. In addition, he also enjoyed family gatherings held in Deering, NH and Alton Bay, NH.

Besides his wife Nancy, Dan is survived by his children, Kerri L. Taylor, Scott D. Cluff and Judy Fortunato, and Daniel T. Cluff, Jr.: three grandchildren, Kira, Brooklyn and Victoria: his sister, Meaghan Ellis: sister-in-law, Cynthia J. Tremblay and her husband Thomas Campbell: many extended family members including his aunt, Meredith Cohen, and his uncle, Gerald McCormack: numerous friends including, his closest friend and golf partner Thomas Coultas and his wife Deborah.

Dan was the brother of the late Richard E. “Earl” Cluff, Jr. and Neal L. Cluff.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, February 22nd, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Wednesday, February 23rd at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Memorial Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment of his ashes will follow at Tewksbury Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Stroke Association, PO Box 840692, Dallas, TX 75284-0692
