
Peabody: Edna M. L. Pelletier age 90 of Peabody, died Thursday afternoon at the Salem Hospital following a brief illness. Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Francois X. and Marie L. (Tardiff) Pelletier.
Employed for over 40 years by the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Co., she retired in 1976 when the company closed its Peabody plant. Edna moved to Peabody, from Salem, in 1961. She loved gardening and was, in fact, gardening when she suffered her stroke two weeks ago. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Parish in Peabody, the Peabody Council on Aging,and she enjoyed traveling.
She is survived by 2 sisters: Jeannette Plourde & Lucille Miaskiewicz both of Salem, a brother: Henry ‘Pete’ Pelletier of Ocala, FL, and many devoted nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was predeceased by 6 sisters: Rita Gagne, Ruth Gould, Delia Brochu, Florence Pelletier, Simone Fiske & Emma Latusky, and 5 brothers: Joseph, Arthur, Edward, Armand, Albert & Roland Pelletier.
Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral on Monday, May 1, 2006, at 9:45 am from the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St., Salem [Rt. 114 / 1-A]followed by her funeral mass in St. John the Baptist Church, Church St., Peabody at 11 am. Visiting hours: Sunday 2 to 6 pm. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
