Karen T. (Trabucco) LaCava, age 65, of Reading, formerly of Winchester, passed away on February 15, 2022. She was the beloved wife of Jack P. LaCava.
Born in Somerville, Karen was the daughter of the late Domenic A. and Bettina C. “Betty” (Troiani) Trabucco. She was raised and educated in Winchester, and attended St. Mary’s School, McCall Middle School and was a 1974 graduate of Winchester High School.
After high school, Karen attended Framingham State University and earned her degree in Medical Technology. She was employed for 25 years at Tufts Medical Center and finished her career at Winchester Hospital. A lifelong ballet dancer, Karen practiced ballet into adulthood. In her spare time, she also enjoyed gardening and interior decorating.
In addition to her husband, Jack, Karen is lovingly survived by their daughter, Lauren M. LaCava, of Cambridge. She is also survived by her siblings: Rick Trabucco and husband Nestor Carrillo of New York, NY, Paul Bennett and wife Carole of Acton, the late Michael Trabucco and his husband Rob Mannke, of Arlington, a sister-in-law, Debra N. Bulkeley and her husband William of Boston.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for Visiting Hours at Costello Funeral Home, 177 Washington St., Winchester, on Tuesday, February 22, from 4-8PM, and again on Wednesday at 9AM followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester, at 10AM. Masks are required. Burial is private.
