Jacintho "Jesse" S. Amorin, age 82 of New Bedford, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was the cherished husband of the late Violet M. (Moreau) Amorin, with whom he shared a loving 61 year marriage.
He was born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antonio and Maria (Souza) Amorin. Jesse graduated from Holy Family High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard, headquarters company, where he made many lifelong friendships. Jesse had a passion for music and had fond memories of his years teaching and playing the accordion with many bands including Art Perry and Bob St. Amour. In his early years he was employed at Colonial Textiles, Sturtevant and Hook and later as a Real Estate Broker earning the CCIM designation. He spent many years as Vice President of Towne House Realty and later as a broker for Jack Conway Real Estate. He was a proud member of the Prince Henry Society and the Rod & Gun Club of New Bedford. Jesse loved his family dearly and took great pride in his children and grandchildren. He was an avid Patriots and Bruins fan and loved spending time with his wife, family and good friends. His favorite place was by the ocean at the family's Fairhaven cottage.
Jesse is survived by his daughters; Susan M. Amorin of Dartmouth, Sandra J. Loranger and her husband Thomas of Norton and Valerie A. Amorin of New Bedford; his four grandchildren, Tyler and Caitlyn Botelho and Matthew and Jack Loranger; and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Antonio Amorim.
We will celebrate the lives of Jesse and Violet on Thursday, February 24, 2022 from 4-8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. A Service will be held at 4 PM.
