Steven M. Cambio
TEWKSBURY: Steven M. Cambio, age 64, a longtime Tewksbury resident, passed away unexpectedly at the Lahey Clinic Hospital in Burlington on Sunday, February 13, 2022.
Born in Cambridge on November 27, 1957, he was the son of the late Elmer “Jack” Cambio and the late Joan (Buckley) Cambio.
Steve was raised in Tewksbury, attended Tewksbury schools, and graduated from Tewksbury Memorial High School in 1975. Following high school, he received his bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science from the University of Lowell.
Since 1997, he has been employed by Airgas, where he held many different positions, holding the title of Director of Strategic Accounts for the past several years.
Steve was a communicant and supporter of St. Williams Church, where he taught in the Religious Education Program, was a founding member of the ACTS Retreat Program, and was a member and drummer for the Contemporary Choir, just to name a few of the many areas Steve was involved in within his church and church community.
Steve enjoyed coaching all his children in Tewksbury’s youth sports programs, cheering on his children through their high school and college careers, riding his bicycle, watching his grandson and nephew play sports as well as always being there for those who needed someone to lean on.
He is survived by his children, Gina Marie Shaw, Vincent M. Cambio, and Nicholas M. Cambio, all of Tewksbury. Steve was the grandfather and “Proud Papa” of Gina’s son, Jordan C. Shaw, of Tewksbury. He leaves his brother, Christopher M. Cambio and his wife Chandy, and their son, Zane M. Cambio, all of Yukon, OK, and was the brother of the late Patricia, Richard, and John Cambio. Steve is survived by his former wife, Ann Marie (Conserva)Cambio, of Tewksbury in addition to numerous extended family members and friends.
Steve will always be remembered for his infectious smile, his quick wit, his industrious work ethic, his ability to fix anything, his willingness to sacrifice his time for anyone who needed him and the fierce loyalty he bore for his friends and family.
Calling hours are Friday, Feb. 18, from 4-8 p.m. at Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. His funeral procession will begin on Saturday, February 19th, at 9 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Arlington. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to in Steve’s name to The Pregnancy Care Center, 158 Mammoth Rd, Lowell, MA 01854.
