WORCESTER - Mong Dung Sullivan,84, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on February 15, 2022.
She was born in Vietnam and moved to the United States in 1972. She was a vibrant presence and business owner in the Worcester community. She opened the first Vietnamese Market in Worcester, MA, the Á Ðông market, which served the Vietnamese community for over 25 years.
The focal point and matriarch of a large family, she was predeceased in death by her husband George F. Sullivan; two sons, Steven N. Sullivan and James E. Sullivan; nephew Nguyêñ Hai; sisters Nguyêñ thi Loan and Nguyen Mong Lan; three brothers Nguyêñ Hữu Cuong , Nguyêñ Mạnh Kiền, Nguyêñ Hửư Hiêp.
She is survived by three daughters, Annie Sullivan-Martinez, Aileen Sullivan-Pacella, Jill Sullivan Kane; a niece, Mong Thuy Nguyen; five sisters Nguyêñ Mông Hang, Nguyêñ Thi Thu Cuc,, Nguyêñ Thi Thanh, Nguyêñ Mong Van, Nguyêñ Mong Huong; three brothers Nguyêñ Huu Cuong, Nguyêñ Huu Luong, Nguyêñ Manh Dung, and Nguyêñ Huu Binh; eleven beloved grandchildren and many close cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester. A funeral service will begin at 2pm in the funeral home. Following the funeral home service, a funeral procession will follow to Rural Cemetery Crematory, 180 Grove Street, Worcester.
