Stephen M. Connole, 68, of Worcester died Tuesday, February 15th in St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marie (Shanahan) Connole; his son, Matthew A. G. Connole and his girlfriend, Anna Hartmann of Manchester, CT; two daughters, Kaitlyn E. Connole of Worcester and Susan E. Connole and her boyfriend, Michael Bartkus of Spencer and many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward and James Connole.
Stephen was born in Fitchburg, the son of Albert P. and Joyce M. (McGrath) Connole. He was a graduate of St. John's High School and Anna Maria College, earning a bachelor's degree in Fire Science. He had been a firefighter for the City of Worcester for 38 years, retiring as a Lieutenant in 2016. He was member of the Worcester Fire Brigade Pipes and Drums for a number of years as well as the District 3 Hazmat Team. Steve has also been employed by R & M Leasing in Oxford from 1986 until last year. He loved vacationing at the Cape with his family as well as cruises with his wife, but his greatest joy was time spent with his family. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
His funeral is Saturday, February 19th from O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with his funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, February 18th from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
