Obituary

Eliezer “Elio The Chicken Man” Ortiz was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He left this world on February 15, 2022 at the age of 70. Elio was born on December 1, 1951 to Secundino & Digna Emerita Ortiz in Rio Piedras, PR.  After moving to Brockton, he met the love of his life and soulmate Carmen Ortiz on October 8, 1980.
 
Elio was a faithful Red Sox fan and there was never a game he’d missed especially if it involved the Yankees, he loved and relished at the family rivalry within and the digs he would be able to dish out with his kids or his sons in laws when his beloved Sox’s won.  He loved spending time with his family and was always surrounded by either his kids, grandkids or great-grand kids
 
Elio a pillar in the community, known and loved by many - most notably for his cooking and known as Elio The Chicken Man.  Through his love of God, Fishing, Cooking and helping others he touched the lives of many in our community.  As a loyal servant of God, he served the Lord for over 30 years and was a long-standing member and Deacon at Centro de Adoracion Casa del Eterno / House of the Eternal Worship Center in New Bedford, MA.  ```````
 
Elio is predeceased by his parents Secundino & Digna Emerita and his sister Noemi.  He is survived by his wife Carmen Ortiz, his children Leonora, Ivette, Frances, Rose, Joanna, Dinah, Eliezer Jr., Elizabeth, Noemi, 30 Grandkids, 18 Great-Grandkids and 13 Brothers & Sisters. 
 
Visitation will be on Tuesday February 22nd at Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton between 5pm-8pm.  On Wednesday February 23rd a Viewing at 9am followed by a Memorial Celebration at 10am.  Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery, 163 N Cary Street Brockton.

The Ortiz Family will also be having a Celebration of Life for Eliezer, we would like it to be known that we appreciate all of the Love that has been shown to Eliezer and the Ortiz Family and we are aware that not everyone has been able to visit and give their condolences, we cordially invite you to visit with the Ortiz family on Wednesday February 23rd, 2022. Venue is as follows,

Time: 2:00p.m.-6:00p.m.

Due to all of the inquiries on wanting to visit with The Ortiz Family there are limits to how many people can be at the Venue at one time, we kindly request if you visit the venue for the Celebration of Life for Eliezer to please keep it to a 30 minute maximum, that way everyone will be able to visit and celebrate Eliezer’s life with the family.
