Nancy Gladys (Chabot) Mendonca

METHUEN Nancy Gladys (Chabot) Mendonca, 64 of Methuen, passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain. She was the wife of Anthony E. Mendonca with whom she shared the last 30 years.

She was born in Lawrence on October 12, 1957 and was a daughter of the late Raymond Chabot and the late Gladys (Mercier) Chabot. She was raised in Lawrence, where she attended the area schools graduating from Greater Lawrence Regional Vocational High School.

Through the years she had many fond nicknames including; Brownie, Auntie Coo Coo, Miss Daisy, Nancy Fancy, with her favorite being Memere. She enjoyed bowling and participated in a bowling league for many years where she met her husband, Anthony. Her and Tony loved to watch football and baseball together, and took every opportunity to visit the beach when they could.

In addition to the love of her life, Anthony E. Mendonca of Methuen, she is survived by their three children, Nicole Jones and her spouse, Jamie of Lowell, Leonard Kolosha of Derry, NH, and Judy Mendonca of Billerica; and her two grandsons, Liam and Lucas Jones, both of Lowell. She is also survived by her siblings, Joseph Chabot and his wife, Janis of Salem, NH, Steven Chabot and his wife, Jeanne of Northern Maine, Linda Buell of Methuen, and Diane Demers and her husband, Robert of Methuen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was predeceased by her stepson, Anthony E. ‘Tony’ Mendonca, Jr. who passed away in 2021; and her brother in law Paul Buell.

On Friday, February 18, 2022, all are welcome to attend her calling hours from 4-7 p.m. at McDonough Funeral Home, 14 Highland Street, Lowell, 978-458-6816. Her funeral will begin on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Procession will follow for burial at St. Patrick Cemetery.
