Anthony A. Milano, 77, of Hopkins Avenue, Johnston, died Friday, February 11, 2022 at Roger Williams Hospital in Providence. He was the husband of Paula E. (Burns) Milano. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in July.
Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert Milano and Ethel M. (Kender) Dundon. He had lived in Johnston for nine years and had previously lived in Chepachet. Anthony had served in the US Marines, Echo Company 2nd Battalion 7th Marines, 1st Marine Division and was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 273 and the Smithfield Lodge of Elks, #2309.
Anthony retired from the Providence School Department as principal of Feinstein High School. He taught at Central High School and Alternate Learning Project and helped to plan and create Feinstein High. He received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Rhode Island College.
Besides his wife, Anthony is survived by his brothers-in law and sisters -in-law: Jane and Alan Johnson of Cumberland, Kristen and Howard Turner of Warwick, Kevin and Lynn Burns of Cumberland, Mark and Sheila Burns of Cumberland, his 17 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 10:30am in the Anderson-Winfield Funeral Home, Rt 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial with military honors will be in RI Veteran’s Cemetery, Exeter. Visitation Thursday, 9:30-10:30am.
