Carline J. Silva, 67, of New Bedford died Monday, February 14, 2022 at home after a long illness.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of Daniel W. Rogers and the late Beatrice M. (Tavares) Rogers, she was raised in New Bedford by her grandparents, the late Amelia "Chenya" and Tony "Chief" Soares, and lived in New Bedford for most of her life.
Carline was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
She was formerly employed as a school teacher with the Fairhaven and New Bedford school systems for many years. She had also formerly been employed as a bilingual teacher at the Ralph W. Emerson School in Boston.
Carline enjoyed cooking gourmet meals and baking pastries. She was a very social person and had lots of friends.
She is survived by her long-time companion, Raymond Texeira; two brothers, Kevin Silva and Daniel Rogers; four sisters, Jewel Silva, Joyce Soares, Geraldine Burgan, and Margaux Rogers; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister, Audrey Soares.
Her Funeral will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 8 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford followed by her Funeral Mass at 9 AM at Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
