BELCHERTOWN – Howard W. Patrick, 78, of Belchertown, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, February 12, 2022. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Wing Hospital in Palmer surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on June 19, 1943, a beloved son of the late Donzel N. Patrick, Sr. and Pearl J. (Quesnel) Patrick. He was raised and educated in Holyoke, lived in Chicopee and Northampton, before moving to Belchertown in 2020. He served his country in the United States Army during Vietnam and attained the rank of Specialist Fourth Class. He received the Expert Marksman Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Commendation Medal with Two Over Seas Bars, and the National Defense Service Medal. He was the owner for over 30 years of the H & S Cleaning Services in Chicopee and retired in 2002. He was a communicant of Saint Theresa of Lisieux in South Hadley. During his leisure time, he enjoyed metal detecting and fishing. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Jeannine R. (Ricard) Patrick. They were married on April 27, 1963 at Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two loving and devoted sons, Jeffrey H. Patrick and his wife, Valerie, of Chicopee and Brian P. Patrick and his wife, Carrie, of Belchertown; his four cherished grandchildren, Lynzee, Conor, Nathan, and Makayla Patrick; his two dear brothers, James Patrick and his wife, Lorraine, of Chicopee and William Patrick and his wife, Nikki, of Clearwater, FL; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his six dear brothers, Richard, Michael, Edward, David, Donzel Jr., and Keith Patrick. His relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Saint Theresa of Lisieux Church, 9 East Parkview Drive, South Hadley, MA 01075. His Committal Service with United States Army Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. There are no visiting hours. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
