Enrique Valentin Velazquez, age 75, passed away on Feb. 11, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Sept. 14, 1946 in Guayama, Puerto Rico. He moved to the US in 1965 and has lived here ever since. Enrique worked as a fork lift operator for the Hasbro and Milton Bradley Companies for 25 years before he retired. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Adela (Serrano) Valentin of Springfield; one son, Enrique Valentin Jr of Springfield; one daughter Maribel Valentin and her husband Marcos Berrios of Springfield; two brothers, Luis and Miguel; four sisters, Sonia, Marilu, Virginia and Tiva; eight grandchildren, Zulmarie, Nevid Jr., Adela Marie, Andrew, Destiny, Diamond, Melina and Diana along with 9 great grandchildren, Joshua, Ariana, Jaziah, Jaylee, Anthony, Marisol, Cincere, Zion and Samuel Jr. He is predeceased by his daughter Marisol Valentin and granddaughter Jessenia. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, step siblings, cousins, extended family and friends who will miss him. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Thursday, February 17, 2022 from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee followed by and in house prayer service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place in Oak Grove Cemetery.
