Joan was a loving mother and grandmother and is survived by her daughter Lynda L. Roberts of Cheshire, MA, and her three grandchildren Gary Steven Dove, Jessica Lynn Dove, and Rebecca Lynn Bartholomy. She is also survived by her sister Dorothea O'Byrne.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her son Steven Mark Roberts who passed away in 1985.

Joan spent every Summer since 1941 at her family beach house in Lone Tree Point in Wickford RI. She enjoyed daily walks and relaxing in her sunroom with a mystery novel in her hands. Her door was always open to friends, her beloved children, grandchildren, and their friends. She had a sweet tooth like no other and you could always find a stash of chocolate in her home. Joan made everyone in her presence feel particularly special. She is remembered as being the ultimate Mother, Gram, and friend; sweet, kind, loving, caring, strong and made the best sandwiches money couldn’t buy. Joan was the Matriarch of her family; her love and guidance will be deeply missed.
