Mary Rau (Gorman) of Brockton, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 11, 2022, at Care One at Randolph surrounded by family at the age of 88. She was the beloved wife of the late William F. Rau.
Born and raised in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Gorman.
Mary attended South Boston High School and went on to work at Bostonian Shoes in Whitman, Wollaston Golf Course in Milton, and McLaughlin Chevrolet, in Whitman. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mary was an avid bingo caller and player at East Side Improvement and the former Saint Colman Church. She also enjoyed dining out, travelling, and has been to many places including, Ireland, Italy, Honduras, and Mexico.
She leaves her loving children, Patricia Wyatt, of Taunton, William Rau, of Brockton, Kathleen Sullivan, and her husband, James, of Braintree, John Rau, and his wife, Cheryl, of Dighton, and Kenneth Rau, and his wife, Kerry, of Rockland; Her eight grandchildren, Christopher Wyatt, James, William, and Thomas Sullivan, Matthew and Kaitlin Rau, and Colin and Brayden Rau; Her sister-in-law, Constance and her husband Joseph Farren; and her brother-in-law, Daniel Boti as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her siblings, John Gorman, Barbara Gorman, Carol Smith, Charlotte Boti and Charles Gorman.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to visit with Mary’s family on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00pm, at the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rt. 123) Brockton. The funeral procession will gather at the funeral home Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 10:00 am, for a Funeral Mass at Christ the King Church, 54 Lyman Street, Brockton at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
